Gen25 Discovery

We facilitate a deep dive, divided into 4 stages, on how to convert your business challenge into your digital solution.

Using advanced digital technology to realize challenging business ambitions has a lot of potential but also has the risk of being overwhelming in possibilities. That’s where the Gen25 Discovery is of great value. We facilitate a deep-dive, divided in 4 stages, on how to convert your business challenge into your digital solution.

Any ambition without a plan is a dream. To make ambitions a reality you have to work on a clear definition of which problem (or challenge) you want to solve, What resources are necessary, which timeline is realistic and what should be the outcome? We know that’s not new. But we also realize that using the advantages of rapidly developing cloud technology to realize your ambitions can be something you don’t do every day. In this case, we’ve got you covered.

Clear deliverables

At the end of a discovery process we present a solution design, which encompasses a clear business goal, well defined epics, system architecture, a selection of user stories and a roadmap..

  • Well defined business challenge
  • Clearly described Epics and selected User stories
  • Matching architectural design for your challenges
  • Plan of action with phased approach
  • Investment overview for realisation

Common challenges in matching business ambitions with digital technology

  • Business challenges can be complex with many variables creating uncertainty and the risk of wrong and costly choices;
  • Technological possibilities can seem endless, which makes deciding on the right choice for your business time consuming and with the risk of missing out on the latest developments;
  • Wanting too much at the same time makes an implementation complex for staff and sponsors involved. A narrow focus on digital possibilities without business context,  puts the adoption of a new digital solution at risk.

Four stages towards a solution design

The Gen25 Discovery matches business ambitions with digital technology like Salesforce clouds, Einstein, Tableau, AWS and Mulesoft. We facilitate a deep-dive on how to convert your challenge into your digital solution. A Discovery process is divided into four stages;

1.

Vision and business goals

In the first workshop we will focus on the business challenge your company is facing. What is the core problem and what are the consequences of this problem? In this first step we will focus on management and the (business) sponsor. The outcome of this workshop are the vision and goals of the company regarding the challenge. These will serve as the guiding principles for decision making in the discovery process and the project

2.

Epics business and IT

With the business challenge clearly defined and validated, we determine together with business and IT stakeholders what is needed to achieve the vision and business goals. This is done with the definition of the epics. Epics are large bodies of work that can be broken down into a number of smaller tasks (the user stories). We’ll use ‘As is’ and ‘To be’ mapping to know the current state (As Is) and model the improved future state (To Be). From our expertise we will reflect on the epics with our best practice experience and the latest technological developments.

3.

Architecture and roadmap

The third step in the Discovery is the matching of the business challenge and epics with an architectural design. This means we cross the epics with workflows and processes and create an overview of the systems which are required and how they ideally interact. With the ever increasing amount of data and the potential this has, we incorporate the usage of analytics and no-code/low-code AI (such as Einstein) in the drawing of the architectural and workflow design. For the realisation of the architectural design in practice, we will deliver a roadmap which considers business value versus costs and complexity to prioritize actions and deliver a phased approach.

4.

User stories

In the final phase of the discovery process we dive into the user stories. User stories are simple, yet extremely powerful constructs: they describe pieces of functionality from a user’s point of view, expressed in a solid, compact way. They reflect what a particular group of users needs and the value they gain. From our Salesforce expertise we will reflect on the users stories with our best practice experience and technological possibilities.
